Production Blog: Catch Up Day

Image
So, you know how our project was shaping up to be pretty awesome, right? Well, we hit a snag last week. We were super pumped about filming, but then reality hit hard. Homework piled up like crazy, and we realized we were drowning in assignments. Everyone in our group was struggling to keep up with the workload. We knew we had to buckle down and get it done. We tried juggling both homework and filming, but it was just too much. We needed a day to focus solely on catching up. It sucked because we were all eager to get filming, but we knew our grades were important too. Plus, we didn't want to rush through the project and have it turn out subpar. So, we made the tough call to postpone filming for a day. It was a bummer, but ultimately, it was the right decision. Once we cleared our homework backlog, we were able to dive back into filming with renewed energy and focus. And you know what? Taking that extra day paid off big time. Our project turned out even better than we hoped.

Production Blog: Stuck Indoors

Man, it was a total bummer! We were all pumped up to finally film our project together, but then this crazy rainstorm hit out of nowhere. I mean, it was like buckets of water falling from the sky! We all got stuck inside our houses, and there was just no way we could meet up. We tried to wait it out, thinking maybe it would pass, but it just kept pouring down harder. We were all texting back and forth, trying to figure out what to do, but there was no chance we could brave that storm. It was like Mother Nature was dead set on keeping us indoors. We even thought about trying to film separately and piece it together later, but it just wouldn't have been the same vibe, you know? So, we had to call it off and reschedule once the weather clears up. It was a major setback, but hey, what can you do? Mother Nature doesn't mess around.

Production Blog: Filming!

Today was our first day being able to film. We took action by getting out of bed and having a good breakfast. After breakfast I went and picked Zeyn up from his house to start heading towards Zane's house. We got to Zanes house and started placing the props everywhere. We had to throw on our costumes and do all the makeup. Luckily Elena is very good at makeup which came in very handy. We then proceeded to start filming and took multiple shots. We did this to ensure that we like what comes out and that we have options to choose from. After about 2 hours of filming we finished all of the indoor shots. We then switched to all the car shots. This was fairly difficult as the car was very cramped and uncomfortable.  However we were able to get it done and in the process get multiple shots. After which we all had separate errands to run. We left and said bye and I dropped Zeyn off at his house. We got most clips out of the way however we still needed to get the other half of the film don

Production Blog: Preparing

We haven't filmed for our project yet for several reasons. Firstly, scheduling conflicts among group members have made it challenging to find a time when everyone is available. Secondly, we've been grappling with selecting the perfect location that aligns with our vision and is logistically feasible. Thirdly, we've encountered technical difficulties with our equipment, which have delayed our filming plans. Additionally, we've been refining our script and storyboard to ensure that our narrative is cohesive and compelling. Moreover, we've been conducting extensive research to accurately portray the themes and concepts we want to explore in our project. Furthermore, we've been coordinating with actors and other collaborators to bring our vision to life. Despite our best efforts, unforeseen circumstances have arisen, causing further delays. However, we're committed to delivering a high-quality final product and are willing to put in the necessary time and effor

Production Blog: Ceremony

Image
Today we knew we were unable to film as there was a ceremony going on afterschool. Most of us got invited to this ceremony. So with this we knew we would not be able to film today. The ceremony was for kids who got a Cambridge award. The ceremony was right after school so we would not be able to film as by the time we are done with the ceremony it would be sundown. This was fine though as we all understood the circumstance. It was not in any of our control and just have to go along with it. We attended it and it went very well. We all got our awards and had a good time. All of our parents showed up and had a good time. After all of our families got dinner together. We all ate good and had a good time after the ceremony. This was a good way to build further chemistry with each other and our families. After dinner we all went home and planned some more. We all texted about how fun today was and when we would film. We decided on tomorrow as we are all free. We checked the weather to make

Production Blog: Obstacles

Today I woke up with the mentality that we were filming. I woke up had a good breakfast and got everything ready in my bag. I sent a text in our group chat asking if everyone was awake and ready to film. Everyone texted but Zane, we figured he was still asleep. We waited about an hour until he finally texted. It was not a text any of us expected. He sent a big paragraph explaining how he got sick and does not feel good. This was extremely unfortunate as we were all ready to film and that it was a very sunny day out. We told him that we understood and that it is not his fault. We wished him well and we all went about with our day. Since it was so nice out I decided to use this opportunity. With this opportunity I decided on going to Walmart and purchasing more props for our film. I was able to purchase a tri-pod and detective looking glasses. The Tri-pod would be helpful for shots that we cant get with our hands. The detective glasses will be helpful to make us look more professional.

Production Blog: Rainy Day

Image
Today I woke up and the first thing I hear is rain hitting my window. I decide to text the group as we planned to film today. Everyone responded saying how it was so unexpected as we checked the day before for the proper weather. We all agreed to wait to see if the rain would go away before sundown. It did not, we had waited the whole day in the hose waiting for the rain to go away and it did not. The rain would stop for 20 minutes then continue to comeback. We decided that it would be best if we just film another day. So we decided to film tomorrow as we are all free. Everyone was pretty upset as we were looking forward to starting our film. However we did  not let this get the best of us. We decided to do more planning and find more props throughout our house. We also decided that for any filming we would use Zane's car. We chose his as it looks the most professional. He drives a 2016 Ford Sport which is a car that cops are known to use. This is perfect as in the film we are set

Production Blog: Brainstorming

Image
Currently, my group and I are fully immersed in preparing for our upcoming school project. We kickstarted our efforts by brainstorming ideas, throwing around diverse concepts to ensure we choose the most compelling topic. With our topic locked in, we've divided tasks among ourselves, capitalizing on each member's strengths and interests. Research is our backbone; we're scouring through academic papers, reliable websites, and books to gather comprehensive information. Regular meetings are scheduled to track progress, share insights, and address any hurdles collectively. Drafting outlines and creating a detailed plan of action are pivotal steps we've taken to maintain organization and clarity. As we delve deeper into the subject matter, we continuously refine our approach, ensuring our project stands out with originality and depth. Collaborative efforts extend beyond research; we're pooling resources, sharing useful materials, and providing constructive feedback to e
