CR Final Task

This short film was a very fun project to film. A lot was learned through filming and editing this film. There are many aspects I can appeal to that occur in the real world that are seen in our film. The representation of two detectives looking into the case of a mass serial murderer in the short film captures broader social concerns of deceit, trust, and the complexity of human nature. The investigators' constant search of the mysterious murderer mirrors society's need for safety and justice as the story progresses. The idea that evil may frequently hide in the most unexpected places, even among those granted with defending the law, is symbolised by the discovery that one of the detectives is, in fact, the criminal, adding levels of complexity to the story. This turn of events exposes the underlying weaknesses in society systems and questions conventional views of authoritative leaders. Furthermore, the dynamic between the two investigators changes dramatically, illust

Production Blog: Final Day of Filming

Image
Today is the day we will finish filming. We will also finish the editing on our film. Today is the big day we put our creation into one. It’s a very exciting day for all four of us. But we need to start soon as it was 1 PM and I was still in bed. I hopped out of bed and drove to pick up Zeyn. We all met at Zane’s house and had lunch. We had Chipotle to make sure we are ready for the long day. This was very needed as we were all hungry. After we put all of our trash away and got to work. We started with filming in the neighborhood. We were able to get a ton of shots in the Forrest of his neighborhood. This was perfect as we needed that environment for our film. Once we finished up getting those shots we captured a few more final shots. We headed back to Zane’s house and sat down to edit. We got to editing on his computer in his room and it lasted 4-5 hours. We were very happy with the result and it was a very fun process. Now that our film is finally done we are very satisfied. Overall

Production Blog: Another Day Off

Today we all collectively decided that we needed to all catch up on work. SAT is on Wednesday and we all feel that is best to prioritize that. So we did, we all stayed home and practiced for the SAT. I stayed inside all day and practiced in Khan Academy. Zeyn did the exact same thing I did. However Zane went to his practice for baseball and football. He did not have much time to study. Elena was able to use her time wisely and studied aswell. We all decided a day to film the last part of our film. We figured a day out and was set on it. We would use this day to finish the second part of filming. We will also used this day to edit the entire film. This will be very good as we have the entire day. We will be at Zane’s house the entire day. We will edit and film in his neighborhood and house. This is perfect as we are all together to edit the film. We would all be able to collectively cooperate and add our own critiques to it. The editing app we will use is Final Cut Pro.  Even with a da

Production Blog: Catch Up Day

So, you know how our project was shaping up to be pretty awesome, right? Well, we hit a snag last week. We were super pumped about filming, but then reality hit hard. Homework piled up like crazy, and we realized we were drowning in assignments. Everyone in our group was struggling to keep up with the workload. We knew we had to buckle down and get it done. We tried juggling both homework and filming, but it was just too much. We needed a day to focus solely on catching up. It sucked because we were all eager to get filming, but we knew our grades were important too. Plus, we didn't want to rush through the project and have it turn out subpar. So, we made the tough call to postpone filming for a day. It was a bummer, but ultimately, it was the right decision. Once we cleared our homework backlog, we were able to dive back into filming with renewed energy and focus. And you know what? Taking that extra day paid off big time. Our project turned out even better than we hoped.

Production Blog: Stuck Indoors

Man, it was a total bummer! We were all pumped up to finally film our project together, but then this crazy rainstorm hit out of nowhere. I mean, it was like buckets of water falling from the sky! We all got stuck inside our houses, and there was just no way we could meet up. We tried to wait it out, thinking maybe it would pass, but it just kept pouring down harder. We were all texting back and forth, trying to figure out what to do, but there was no chance we could brave that storm. It was like Mother Nature was dead set on keeping us indoors. We even thought about trying to film separately and piece it together later, but it just wouldn't have been the same vibe, you know? So, we had to call it off and reschedule once the weather clears up. It was a major setback, but hey, what can you do? Mother Nature doesn't mess around.

Production Blog: Filming!

Today was our first day being able to film. We took action by getting out of bed and having a good breakfast. After breakfast I went and picked Zeyn up from his house to start heading towards Zane's house. We got to Zanes house and started placing the props everywhere. We had to throw on our costumes and do all the makeup. Luckily Elena is very good at makeup which came in very handy. We then proceeded to start filming and took multiple shots. We did this to ensure that we like what comes out and that we have options to choose from. After about 2 hours of filming we finished all of the indoor shots. We then switched to all the car shots. This was fairly difficult as the car was very cramped and uncomfortable.  However we were able to get it done and in the process get multiple shots. After which we all had separate errands to run. We left and said bye and I dropped Zeyn off at his house. We got most clips out of the way however we still needed to get the other half of the film don
