Genre Decision

Genre 1: For the first genre we decided to research romance. We wanted to see what our options were. Halfway through researching we realized how we weren’t really passionate about this genre. We new that having passion for our film would be very beneficial. With passion comes motivation and so many other aspects. The romance genre was just not doing it for us.

Genre 2: So we decided our next genre to research was comedy. We felt that comedy could work out but weren’t too sure yet. So we did some more research and later realized how it would be difficult for us to crack a handful amount of jokes in an opening scene. Comedy wasn’t our cup of tea and we felt as if we wouldn’t be able to film such opening scene. We wanted something a little more exciting than romance and comedy.

Genre 3: So that’s when we decided to research the genre “thriller”. We felt that this would be our best genre. We all had a preference for thriller movies due to the tension and excitement brought throughout the movie. Immediately we came up with some good ideas for a potential opening scene that falls under thriller. It felt as if it was a good choice for us.

Decision: As a group we decided that the movie genre “thriller” would be the best for us to film. This is because of all the possibilities we are able to come up with because of our interest in the genre. This genre is the most entertaining for us to film as it is upbeat and brings excitement to the viewers. We feel the most confident in making a thriller based opening scene because of our filming, editing, and acting performances with past assignments. We feel the most confident in producing a high quality opening scene that is based off thriller so as a group are deciding to film and edit our opening scene based off the genre “thriller”.
